Sharing The Butterfly Experience

Keep an eye out for this upcoming event! Sharing The Butterfly Experience will return to Pearlridge Center, offering an immersive, interactive exhibit for visitors of all ages. From July 2nd to August 3rd, guests can explore the delicate life cycle of butterflies, feed them, and enjoy the beauty of these graceful creatures up close. Located in Mauka Center Court, this family-friendly event provides a unique and educational summer activity for everyone to enjoy. On July 27th from 11am to 4pm, Dr. Will Haines will make an appearance and bring along the elusive Kamehameha butterfly for viewers to see! Don’t miss out on this chance to connect with nature and experience the wonder of butterflies!

Read To Me At Raising Cane’s

This July, Raising Cane’s and Read To Me International are hosting free, interactive read-aloud events for keiki and their families at select Oahu locations. Designed to spark a love for reading, these events will take place from 10:00am to 12:00pm on July 5 at the Mililani Raising Cane’s, July 12 at the Kapolei Raising Cane’s, July 19 at the Pearl City location, and July 26 at the Hawaii Kai restaurant. Each session features 3 to 4 book readings, bookmark crafting, singing, and engaging literacy activities led by Read To Me International, a local nonprofit dedicated to promoting family reading. As an added bonus, children who read seven books can redeem a completed bookmark at any Hawaii Raising Cane’s for a free Kids Combo meal. Now in its fourth year, this community partnership continues to offer fun and meaningful literacy experiences. All events are free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Liliuokalani Keiki Hula Contest

Neal S. Blaisdell Center

The Kalihi-Pālama Culture & Arts Society, Inc. will host the 2025 Queen Liliʻuokalani Keiki Hula Competition from July 24 to 26 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Over 600 young dancers, ages 6 to 12, from 25 hula hālau across Hawaiʻi and Toronto, Canada, will compete in traditional and contemporary hula. The event includes solo and group competitions, showcasing both kahiko and ʻauana styles. The public can also enjoy the Keiki Hula Festival: Pop-Up Mākeke with local artists, royal memorabilia from the Hawaiʻi State Archives, live performances, and fashion from local designers.
